Chapel Day
Pinewood Christian Academy is Christ-centered, and I am convinced that so long as our academy maintains its founding purpose, our Heavenly Father will continue to abundantly bless us, as He has for these many years now.
Tab Smith, first Headmaster

“I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth….Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together….Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD” (Psalm 34:1,3,11).   With this Scripture reading, the student body of Pinewood was addressed for the first time, in September of 1970.

From the first meeting of the steering committee in February of that year, Pinewood Christian Academy was deliberately designed to offer more than just a Christian environment; the Gospel of Jesus Christ was to be foremost in our instruction.  No matter what the subject matter, teaching was to proceed from a Biblical worldview.  Each day began and still begins with a Scripture lesson and prayer in homeroom.

The centerpiece of this spiritual approach is our weekly chapel service.  The meeting serves as an assembly of the student body in separate sessions for the upper and lower schools.

Chapel services bring outstanding messages to Pinewood students through special guest speakers. Area youth pastors are actively involved in Chapel services by providing spiritual messages and attending Wednesday services, being available to students for prayer and discussion. Chapel service has grown to fit the needs of today’s young people; however, the Christ-centered foundation will never change.
